The Fund for Women (FFW) at the Delaware Community Foundation recently awarded its 2023 grants to nonprofits serving women and girls in Delaware.

The organizations receiving grants to benefit the Latino community are:

  • Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition: $15,000 statewide grant to fund a culturally competent breast health outreach program for underserved Latino populations in Delaware.
  • La Esperanza, Inc.: $5,200 grant for Sussex County to help establish a digital and financial literacy program for Latino women.
  • Latin American Community Center: $15,000 grants for New Castle County to fund skills, career and mental health workshops for Latino women in abusive relationships.
  • Read Aloud Delaware: $15,000 grant for New Castle and Sussex counties to fund a program to teach Latino mothers to support their children’s literacy development from an early age through music, movement and storytelling.

FFW’s one-year grant offers organizations seed money for innovative, creative programming or funding to continue or expand programs where effectiveness has been demonstrated.
