At La Colectiva, we are hearing about the incredible ways our members are reaching out to help families across Delaware. Most of us are still trying to understand how COVID-19 is changing life – and lives – particularly those of our Latino families who are at increased risk, have limited /no incomes, and lack access. Health and education disparities are increasing and must be considered as new and equitable approaches are designed.
Now more than ever, we must work collaboratively. I personally invite you to submit ideas for projects that La Colectiva could fund. For instance, we know that parents are struggling to support their children’s education at home. Why not unite educators from several districts to develop a coaching program for parents as educators?
Our members are already collaborating to ensure that families have food, vital information and resources. Others focused on education are creating alternative learning plans for homeschooling. We all are learning how to better use technology to work, cope and connect with those we cannot be with. Look at the work of a few of our members in this newsletter.
Continue to update the network on your experiences in La Colectiva Partners’ Coronavirus Response Survey. We are grateful for your abilities and perseverance to rethink, retool and reach out.
While fostering “collaboration” has been driving La Colectiva’s work, it’s essential now. May we all collaborate — sharing ideas, building new approaches, and providing effective programs.
