La Colectiva supports the work of our teachers, school counselors, and the nonprofit and government organizations that devote their time and expertise to ensure students have important learning opportunities to plan their futures.
Over the decades, the Latin Community Center has hosted the Hispanic Student Recognition Program to motivate and recognize Latino students from across the state. TeenSHARP has collaborated with the Department of Education and the University of Delaware to provide a variety of opportunities for high school students who seek information about higher education and college planning as they approach graduation. Aspira of Delaware prepares students for leadership and success in high school settings and beyond.
ASPIRA of Delaware is a nonprofit organization devoted solely to the education and leadership development of Latino youth. ASPIRA of Delaware has three signature programs:
- ASPIRA Clubs
- ASPIRA Saturday Academy Program
- Las Américas ASPIRA Academy
ASPIRA of DE prepares students to succeed in the educational arena, develops their leadership skills, and encourages them to serve their community. They provide services both to Hispanic students and parents as well as non-Hispanics.
The Board of Directors of ASPIRA of Delaware, Inc. is composed of Hispanic Delawareans and others with a passion for education and commitment to the educational and leadership needs of Hispanic students and parents. Many of the state’s Hispanic leaders are members of ASPIRA of Delaware Board of Directors and include educators, attorneys, elected and appointed officials, people from industry, government employees, parents, grassroots community volunteers and leaders with a strong history of community involvement.
